  • 2012 was not the finest year for Silverado

I was raised on GM vehicles and own several others but after owning this truck for over 5 years I am disappointed in the silverado quality. I bought the truck with 15k miles and now has around 64K. It's a Z71 LT with appearance package. The interior is cheap, Factory radio randomly trys to load CD's, common crack in the dash, rattle in the door panels with the windows down if your riding on a dirt road, the paint on the roof peeled, and the wonderful oil consuming AFM (ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT) is terrible. This truck has been babied and well taken care of through maintenance and cleaning and hasn't lived a hard life but it seems to want to fall apart and only has 63k miles on it. The drive train is solid though with plenty of power and capability. I would probably not purchase another newer GM product due to my experience. My 1996 GMC interior is better quality and more solid than this truck and its got 263K miles on it.
  • Great all-around pickup truck

I have owned and drove this truck as a daily driver for 8 years. It has been a very reliable and practical vehicle. The ride is smooth, quiet and comfortable. The engine is powerful and always delivers. The transmission was not the greatest, it never broke down, but at times it will hunt for gears. In parking lot situations the truck does not handle nimbly and you will be making turns like a boat. Overall, it has been a great 100,000+ miles with this vehicle
  • All original parts. Great truck. Never failed me.

Truck is worked hard driving in NY metro area. 2000 lbs loaded in bed & truck handle's it with ease. Best $24000 dollars I ever spend. Original plugs, belts , antifreeze, transmission fluid, & shocks. Only had to change one front bearing at 250,000 miles. 4.8 liter engine is amazing. My 2000 Silverado perform just as well. Great truck
